What to Wear for Senior Pictures | Phoenix Senior Photographer

Wondering what to wear for your senior photos with Lisa d. Photography?  Here are some helpful hints in selecting your outfits!

  • Choose a location that suits your personality.  Roy is an artist, so the downtown art district of Roosevelt Row was fitting for his personality.  His bright pop of color was simple and not distracting since we had a busy background. He wore a nice tee shirt that did NOT display graphics or labels and we chose a background that complemented the color he was wearing and did not clash.Phoenix Senior Photographer | downtown Phoenix senior guy
  • Bring at least one outfit change.  I recommend a casual outfit and a dressy outfit for totally different looks.

  • Don’t forget to accessorize!  Suspenders, scarves, hats, and statement jewelry are all great options to bring to add interest to the photos without taking away from the subject.Phoenix Senior Photographer | downtown Phoenix senior girl | Saguaro High School
  • Don’t forget to consider your footwear.  Make sure you select clean and unscuffed shoes.  Do not wear flip flops unless you are considering going barefoot.  I recommend boots and wedges for girls and boots or character sneakers for guys ( think Converse, Vans, vintage Nikes, etc.)
  • Layer your clothing, as weather permits.  Jackets, sweaters, sweater vests, tights, blazers, all add texture and interest to your photos.Phoenix Senior Photographer | Cactus Shadows sophmore
  • Choose colors that contrast with your location. If you will be out in nature with lots of trees and grass, don’t have your focal color be green.  If you will be in the desert, don’t wear the focal color of brown.
  • Wear a style that reflects your surroundings.  Bella’s floral pattern suits the more “country style” setting.  Whereas Tara, two photos back has chosen a more “city style” look for a downtown setting.  Don’t wear a suit to a farm!  LOLPhoenix Senior Photographer | Gilbert High
  • Bring props.  Bring items that reflect who you are and interests you might have at this time.  Roy is Senior Class President and Diana plays and is into indie music.Phoenix Senior Photographer | downtown Phoenix senior guy | Tempe Senior girl musician
